My aim in participating in the Ankara art fair was to carry the spirit and perspective of Testimony beyond the walls of the gallery and into the wider field of contemporary art. What was born in an exhibition space shouldn’t remain confined there; it needed to enter new terrains, new conversations, and new audiences.

Istanbul-based contemporary artist Alper Yahya transforms his background in graphic design and motion pictures into an interdisciplinary practice encompassing painting, video, and public spaces. Inspired by social and political awareness, the artist expresses his work through street art. His wide range of works also includes comic art, video performances, animation, tattoos, and canvas paintings. Operating under the motto "There is no time or space to create an image," Yahya has taught design courses on digital learning platforms and at universities, and has won awards at International Independent Film Festivals with his short films. Having held his first solo exhibition in Istanbul in 2025, the artist continues to exhibit his work in various venues throughout Istanbul and participates in various art fairs.
